El Jobean Real Estate
If you like the idea of living close to amenities, but without the hustle and bustle of big-city living, you may want to consider El Jobean, Florida. This small town is located on Route 776 between Englewood and Port Charlotte.
Port Charlotte is only four miles away, which means that you don't have to travel far to enjoy all the services and activities that a larger community can provide. The Myakka River flows into Charlotte Harbor just a few miles away, and several homes in the area can access it by saltwater canal. What could be more convenient for a boating enthusiast?
El Jobean, Florida Real Estate Offers Many Choices
El Jobean is home to a lovely gated community called "Riverwood." Riverwood is made up of more than 16 separate subdivisions. Picture living in a tropical paradise with many attractive features nearby, and you will have some idea of what the residents of El Jobean enjoy on a daily basis.
A 4.5 star golf course is available for Riverwood residents to use, along with a beach club (measuring 5,000 square feet) on Manasota Key. This gated community also offers several tennis courts, a swimming pool (junior Olympic size), and a fitness center.
El Jobean, Florida Real Estate Offers Recreational Activities
El Jobean also offers residents the opportunity to engage in a number of recreational activities. If you want to host an outdoor event, why not consider renting a pavilion at El Jobean Park? Along with covered shelters with picnic tables, the park also offers a playground and a basketball court. Bring your boat, kayak, or canoe if you like; a boat launch is available, along with a launching area for canoes and kayaks.
If you enjoy (or would like to try) salt-water fishing, then you will want to check out the El Jobean Fishing Pier, which is located next to the El Jobean Bridge. It was originally known as the El Jobean Charlotte Harbor & Northern Railroad Bridge, and provided the means for people to cross the Myakka River to get between Port Charlotte and Englewood.
An interesting feature of the bridge is that it was a drawbridge that could be moved up to allow boats to pass through. The tracks have been removed and the bridge is now a solid structure. It remains a very popular fishing spot in the El Jobean area.
The main type of fish anglers are trying to catch in the are is the snook. This type of fish has a lateral line that is clearly visible, along with a divided dorsal fin. The forehead slopes down and it has a large mouth with the lower jaw extending out further than the upper one. Most snook caught by anglers weigh in at between five and eight pounds. The largest one caught in Florida was a whopping 44 lbs and 3 oz!
El Jobean is a lovely spot for people who want a slightly slower pace to life than what a big city offers. With the number and variety of activities available, there truly is something for everyone here. |
